2018 CMT Music Awards Announce Video Of The Year Winner

It’s the one award that every country artist wants to come home with at the CMT Music Awards…the award for Video of the Year. Originally, 12 artists were nominated, and fans got to vote for who they felt the winner should be.

Then on the morning of the awards (June 6), Blake Shelton joined Today show host Hoda Kotb at his Ole Red bar in Nashville to announce the five videos that received the highest number of votes.

Those five nominees are as follows:

Blake Shelton: “I’ll Name the Dogs”
Thomas Rhett: “Marry Me”
Brett Young: “Mercy”
Kane Brown featuring Lauren Alaina: “What Ifs”
Luke Combs: “When It Rains It Pours”

Once those final nominees were announced, fans were left to vote for their favorite out of that pack. The one with the most votes would be named the winner at the end of the awards ceremony.

Finally, after a night packed full of entertaining performances and award wins, it came time for the CMT Music Awards to issue its greatest trophy. After much anticipation, the Video of the Year winner was revealed…

The winner of the 2018 CMT Music Award for Video of the Year is “I’ll Name the Dogs” by Blake Shelton!
