While Luke Bryan is “sittin’ pretty in Sun Tan City” this week on his annual Spring Break Tour, he’s also sitting at the top of the Billboard 200 Chart. The superstar’s latest release, Spring Break…Here To Party, sold 150,000 copies during its first week, marking Luke’s best sales week yet. It’s also his first time atop the Billboard 200.
His last studio album, tailgates & tanlines, sold 145,000 in the first week, earning him the N0.2 slot on the chart.
The 14 track spring break album contains many of the songs released on his previous Spring Break EP’s. In addition, Luke co-wrote two original songs for the album- “Just A Sip” and “Buzzkill.”
It’s interesting to note that “the last time a single-act compilation was No. 1 was on the Nov. 14, 2009, chart, when the Michael Jackson soundtrack to “This Is It” debuted atop the list,” according to Billboard.Like Country Music Nation
