Just a week or so after ABC announced that they are bringing back American Idol, a former champ and judge reunited at a Nashville show. Carrie Underwood was fan-girling at the New Kids On The Block show, which featured Paula Abdul and Boyz II Men as their opening acts.

Underwood came on stage for a surprise serenade for NKOTB members Danny Wood and Jordan Knight’s birthdays, and while she was backstage, ran into a familiar face.

Well, look who I ran into backstage at #TheTotalPackage Tour! So cool to watch her do her thing!” she captioned a photo of herself with former Idol judge Paula Abdul.

Abdul also shared the same photo saying, “So happy to reunite with the amazingly talented and equally beautiful Carrie Underwood tonight. So proud of your journey.”

Some fans wondered if Abdul gave Underwood any advice about the American Idol reboot, with rumors swirling that the country superstar is “in talks” with producers about becoming a judge.
