Crystal Gayle Shares Update On Loretta Lynn’s Health

Weeks after her 85th birthday, country legend Loretta Lynn suffered a stroke at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. The country music community came together in prayer for Lynn, who was admitted into a Nashville hospital.

As the news of Lynn’s stroke started to spread online, her sister and fellow country singer Crystal Gayle took to Twitter to address her fans. “We hope for a speedy recovery,” she wrote.

On May 10, Lynn’s assistant, daughter, and granddaughter spoke to WSMV-TV out of Nashville to confirm that Lynn was feeling better. They shared that “she is doing better each day and is sitting up in her recliner, laughing and talking.”

Gayle also continued to keep fans updated on Lynn’s progress, tweeting to her followers to keep the prayers coming. We’re lucky in this day and age to have wonderful doctors and nurses taking care of her,” she wrote.

Five days after Gayle wrote that message, Lynn’s team confirmed that she was on the road to recovery. A statement posted on Lynn’s website announced that she had been moved out of the hospital and it now in rehabilitation. “We’re happy to report she’s doing great!” the statement read.

Not much else has been heard about Lynn’s condition since then. Finally, on Friday (June 2), Gayle took to Twitter once again to share an update on her sister’s health. It was short and simple, but should help put country fans’ minds at ease.

It’s so great seeing my sister, @LorettaLynn getting stronger every day,” she wrote. “Again, thank you for all your love, support and prayers! Keep it up.

Lynn’s doctors have advised her to refrain from performing until she makes a full recovery. As a result, all of her upcoming performance have been postponed until further notice. In the meantime, fans can look forward to her upcoming album Wouldn’t It Be Great, which is set for release on August 18.

We’re continuing to pray for Lynn’s quick and complete recovery.
