During the final moments of her career in motorsports, this top-running female racer is making history…AGAIN.
“I have a thing for doing things the first time as a woman,” Danica Patrick said in a giddy tone.
Preparing for the final race of her life, the 2018 Indy 500, Danica earned top marks during the qualifying week and soared well past that 230 MPH mark. With a performance like that, she stole a spot in the “Fast Nine” and will start the official race in the seventh position.
While she looks to be making an incredible mark on her final time behind the wheel, there’s one more thing she had up her sleeve – and she’ll be making history yet again!
Sitting down with Jimmy Fallon on a recent episode of The Tonight Show, Danica made a confession that dropped jaws and had everyone buzzing.
After 25 years, Danica Patrick will be the first female to host the annual ESPY Awards!
“I have a thing for doing things for the first time as a woman…so I’m gonna be the first woman to host the ESPYS!”
Traditionally, the show is hosted by a comedian, film, music or sports star with recent years featuring Peyton Manning, John Cena, Joel McHale, Jon Hamm, and more.
Now, Danica is taking over hosting duties at the same event where she met now-boyfriend Aaron Rodgers!
