When you hear the name “Hough,” the first thing that comes to mind is “limitless talent.” Brother and sister Derek and Julianne Hough are one dynamic duo, since they can both sing, dance, and act.
The Hough siblings each found their fame as professional dancers on Dancing with the Stars. They keep coming back to the show no matter where their careers take them, though Julianne has taken on a new role as a judge.
In addition to their work on Dancing with the Stars, Derek is set to star in the upcoming televised version of Hairspray, while Julianne played Sandy in Grease Live! and also released a hit country album.
Now, Julianne and Derek are happy to announce the next step in their careers, as they’ve just signed on for a beloved holiday special.
Each of the Hough siblings posted to their respective Instagrams on Wednesday (November 2) to announce that they are this year’s co-hosts of the Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration. Derek shared how excited he is to host the special with his sister, writing, “It’s gonna be filled with pure magic and holiday joy. What else do expect from Disney! Can’t wait!“
In her post, Julianne revealed that she will also be serving as an executive producer of the special. She was just as excited as her brother to make the announcement, writing, “Make sure you guys tune in for more fun than you’ll even know what to do with!!!”
The Magical Holiday Celebration airs on Thanksgiving night, but that’s not the only Disney special Julianne and Derek are involved with. Entertainment Weekly reports the siblings will also be hosting a second special, called The Disney Parks’ Magical Christmas Celebration, which airs on Christmas morning.
We have our fingers crossed that Julianne and Derek will sing a Christmas duet! After all, they worked so well together in their country duet, “Dreaming Under the Same Moon.” You can watch them perform that song in the video below!
