Kris Kristofferson Sings To His 93-Year-Old Nanny

For Kris Kristofferson, music has always come from the soul. This time is no different.

The country music legend was in Brownsville, Texas in 2016 and made his way over to see a familiar face. Juanita, his 93-year-old former nanny, was waiting for his arrival and their tearful reunion was something we’re sure neither of them will ever forget!

Kristofferson played her a song that is near and dear to both of them, “For The Good Times,” which he began writing in 1968 while driving from Nashville to the Gulf of Mexico.

He ended up releasing it on his debut album, Kristofferson, in 1970 and that same year, Ray Price released his own version of the song.

Price’s version went to number one on the Billboard country charts and was awarded the Song of the Year award at the Academy of Country Music Awards that year.

In this sweet video, Kristofferson can be seen wiping away tears while singing her “For The Good Times.” Juanita sweetly ran her hand through Kristofferson’s hair and it just may be the sweetest thing you’ll see all day.

You can tell just how much history there is between these two and how thankful they are to have each other. It’s a beautiful sight to see.
