Late Night TV Gets A Southern Rock Wakeup Call With A Little ‘Sweet Home Alabama’

Night after night, millions of people tune in to watch their favorite late night television shows. These shows often feature celebrity interviews and hilarious skits. Many of these shows also welcome musical guests, showcasing artists from various genres.

Most of the time, the musical guests invited to late night shows are pop stars or country artists. But late night TV turned a bit Southern back in 2012. That’s the year that Lynyrd Skynyrd rocked The Late Late Show, bringing a little “Sweet Home Alabama” to night owls everywhere. 

The Late Late Show ran from 2005-2014, and featured comedian Craig Ferguson as the host. The show aired on weeknights in the U.S. at the wee hour of 12:27 AM.

Despite the late time, Skynyrd’s diehard fans made sure to tune in to the group’s performance of “Sweet Home Alabama” on The Late Late Show. Those who tuned in are probably glad they did, because Skynyrd ended up putting on one rockin’ show that night.

Skynyrd never fails to deliver a high dose of energy with “Sweet Home Alabama.” Their performance on The Late Late Show was just as fiery as ever, even though it was close to one in the morning!

Anyone who watched Skynyrd sing that night got a big Southern rock wakeup call. Who needs caffeine when you could just watch Skynyrd sing “Sweet Home Alabama” instead?
