After more than two months of silence, with just small updates being posted on her website and official social media accounts, Loretta Lynn has finally spoken publicly for the first time since suffering a stroke at her Hurricane Mills home in early May 2017.

In a statement on her official page, her team revealed to the public that the country music legend had indeed suffered a stroke and explained that she was admitted to a local Nashville hospital.

“She is currently under medical care and responsive and expected to make a full recovery,” the post continued. “Loretta, who just celebrated her 85th birthday, has been advised by her doctors to stay off the road while she is recuperating. Regrettably, upcoming scheduled shows will be postponed.”

Now, in an unexpected new update, Lynn is heard speaking publicly and sounds like she is in good health and great spirits. The audio message was shared with her fans through her Loretta Lynn’s Ranch Facebook page, along with an update on her condition.

“Ms. Loretta wants to wish everyone a Happy 4th of July!” the post began. “This is the audio only capture of the greeting from Ms. Loretta played by Patsy Lynn at this weekends concert at the ranch. Ms. Loretta is making improvements and getting stronger every day and she knows her fans are praying for her. She can’t wait to come back and sing for you all.”

In the audio recording of Lynn, she expresses to all her fans that she misses them and wishes them a very happy Fourth of July before thanking them for the prayers for her recovery.

We are thrilled to hear her in such good spirits and thankful she’s making such a quick recovery. Listen to her heartfelt message in the video below!
