This performance once again proves that there is no one else quite like Martina McBride. While performing at the Grand Ole Opry, McBride wasted no time when she walked on stage to begin her tribute to the Father of Bluegrass, Bill Monroe.

She started singing “Blue Moon of Kentucky,” which was added to the Library of Congress National Recording Registry in 2003, seven years after his death.
Monroe wrote “Blue Moon Of Kentucky” in 1946 and recorded it with his band, the Blue Grass Boys. Two members of his band went on to become bluegrass legends, Earl Scruggs and Lester Flatt, who went on to form the band, Foggy Mountain Boys.
McBride captivated the audience from the start and was waving to fans in the audience throughout the performance. She was bouncing the beat and even got the audience clapping along.
