The 7-time Female Vocalist of the Year took the ACM stage on Sunday (April 2) to perform a song from her album The Weight of These Wings, “Tin Man”.

Miranda Lambert was slated to perform the second single off the album, “We Should Be Friends”, but just a couple days before the awards show, she changed her song.

“I’m nervous. I’m terrified, is the word I’m using,” Miranda told Rare Country after rehearsing her performance in Las Vegas. “I changed my song at the last minute, like, less than 48 hours ago.”

She accompanied herself on the guitar and completely left everything out on the stage. “Tin Man” is an emotional song in reference to the character from The Wizard of Oz, who desperately wants a heart. Lambert sings that he is lucky he doesn’t have a heart because the pain of heartbreak is almost unbearable.

We’re not sure how she made it through the song with just tearing up, because we were a mess when we watched it. Lambert’s performance is one that people will be talking about for a long time.
