While neither performer addressed the split or dedicated their time to clarifying their riff to doting fans, both released profound music that no doubt alluded to their current state of affairs.
In fact, Lambert refuses to talk about the divorce altogether, encouraging fans to delve into her music for any answers or clarification they may crave. Post album release, Lambert was partaking in an interview regarding her work on The Weight Of These Wings when a question pertaining to her divorce had the singer directing the questions to her new music. “If you want to hear my side of the story or my opinion of what happened, it’s all on there. There’s no mystery anymore — take from it what you will,” she told Billboard.
The post-divorce album contained a variety of heartbreaking hits that no doubt addressed the difficult times of turmoil and coping mechanisms for the singer. The emotional compilation was deemed a great success, certified Platinum and a commercial hit with her fans eager to indulge in the musician’s remarkable talent. Lambert admitted that her heart-wrenching divorce took a toll on her future, saying, “I won’t look at things ever again in the same light, because different things in your life bring you to a deeper level with yourself. I won’t take pain for granted anymore.”
