The CMT Music Awards are all about superstar collaborations, and this year’s ceremony featured some of the best we’ve ever seen. One such collaboration took place between rock legend Peter Frampton and country duo Brothers Osborne

Born in England, Hampton made his rise to fame through his work with the bands Humble Pie and The Herd. He eventually went solo, and became known for songs since “Baby, I Love Your Way” and “I’m in You.”

Brothers Osborne’s history doesn’t stretch back as far as Frampton’s, but they’ve already had an admirable career. The two brothers are known for hit songs such as “Stay a Little Longer,” “21 Summer,” and their current single, “It Ain’t My Fault.” They surprised everyone at the CMA Awards in 2016 when they won the award for Vocal Duo of the Year over longtime winners Florida Georgia Line. The duo repeated their feat at the ACM Awards in April, where they also won the Vocal Duo of the Year Award.

It made perfect sense to pair Brothers Osborne up with Frampton, since the duo’s sound features strong rock influences and plenty of guitar solos. So you can bet that their performance was one that viewers were looking forward to when they tuned in to watch the CMT Music Awards on Wednesday night (June 7).

Frampton and Brothers Osborne certainly didn’t disappoint with their performance. Gathered on an outdoor stage, Frampton and Brothers Osborne jammed out to “It Ain’t My Fault.” Frampton got the chance to show off his guitar skills during a rowdy solo that got the audience riled up.

The crowd could be heard yelling along as they threw their hands up in the air and clapped to the beat. They just couldn’t get enough!

You can catch a small portion of Frampton’s guitar solo from the CMT Music Awards performance below. When you’re done, check out the Brothers Osborne’s official video for “It Ain’t My Fault.”

We think the CMT Music Awards hit the nail on the head when they decided to put Frampton and Brothers Osborne together. They rocked it!
