A Nursery Rhyme Comes To Life
Bet y’all thought that shoe-shaped houses were reserved for nursery rhymes!
As it turns out, there’s actually a real-life shoe people can live in, and it’s as country as it gets.
Located in Huntsville, Texas, this larger-than-life house has been designed to resemble a giant cowboy boot. Called the Cowboy Boot House, the structure was built by Dan Phillips, who explained the inspiration behind its design.
“Since I was a child, I was always fascinated by creating houses that looked like homes in storybooks,” he said.
Speaking of storybooks, remember how the old woman who lived in a shoe had so many children that she didn’t know what to do? While she managed to make it work while living in a shoe, the Cowboy Boot House probably wouldn’t be the best place for large families such as hers. With only two bedrooms, one bathroom, and 711 square feet, the house is tiny, but cozy.

What the Cowboy Boot House lacks in space it definitely makes up for in design. Since it is built upwards, the Cowboy Boot House has stunning high ceilings throughout the home.
One of the main highlights of the home is its breathtaking woodwork. It is on full display in the home’s covered porch, which features a painted accent wall.
The woodwork and rustic finishes continue throughout the house. One of the most intriguing spaces is the living room, which is situated in the toe of the boot. Due to its location in the boot, the living room has an eye-catching curved roof that is sure to impress your guests. And there’s a fireplace!
As for the kitchen, it includes some of the most unusual features in the entire home. The walls take on a metal-like appearance, making it look like you’re cooking up dinner at the bottom of a grain silo!
No Boring Decor Here!
Just like the rest of the rooms in the house, the bedrooms are anything but boring. As you rest in bed at night, you’ll find yourself staring at the slanted ceiling, which is completely covered with the sleeves from old vinyl records.
Climb up to the top of the boot, and you’ll find a little rooftop deck. Perfect for barbecuing or stargazing, the deck will quickly become one of your favorite spots in the house.
This one-of-a-kind home was once available for rent at the price of only $1,200 a month. Not bad, considering that you’ll live in one of the most unique homes in America!
Phillips said in 2017 that his next project would be a house shaped like a cowboy hat. Maybe the home would be a perfect fit for a country singer. We’re sure someone like Jon Pardi would fall “Head Over Boots” for it!
