On August 21, 2015, at Toby Keith’s concert in Charlotte, North Carolina, the crowd chanted “USA! USA! USA!” before a very patriotic and emotional moment took place. Toby Keith is known for bringing veterans on stage during his performances, but this time was different. He welcomed American hero Lt. Col. Harry Frizzell Sr. on stage and was overcome with emotion.

Keith introduced Frizzell, who had served in Vietnam, Korea, and WWII for 34 years and raised four kids back home. The two men held hands, and Keith announced that he wanted to dedicate his most patriotic songs to Frizzell.

Keith performed two of his popular hits, “American Soldier” and “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue.” After the performance, Frizzell tearfully saluted the crowd, and Keith handed him the microphone.

Frizzell then addressed the applauding audience, saying, “My name is Lt. Col. Harry Frizzell. I’m from Oklahoma just like this gentleman…I would like to say just a few sentences here. God bless America.”

Keith was overwhelmed with emotion, and the video captured him dabbing tears from his eyes. The touching moment between Keith and Frizzell demonstrated the importance of honoring our veterans and the sacrifices they have made for our country.

This heartwarming performance and tribute to a hero continues to inspire people to this day, reminding us to always remember and appreciate the bravery of our troops. God bless America!
