Country singer Barrett Baber rose to fame in 2015 when he placed third on the Emmy-winning singing competition show The Voice. As a member of Team Blake, he turned all four chairs during his Blind Audition, won his Battle Round, Knockout Round and charted several songs on the Billboard and iTunes charts during his time on the show.
His highest charting song was his cover of Conway Twitty’s “I’d Love To Lay You Down”, which shot to No. 1 on the Country Digital Songs chart. After his time on the show, Baber began touring and recording music, releasing an album A Room Full of Fighters on November 6, 2016.
He is extremely loyal to his fans and enjoys interacting with them on social media. He took to social media to tell them some bad news – he will be cancelling all his shows for the week. Baber sadly revealed that the reason behind this was because his wife Sarah’s father, Mike, passed away on Tuesday night (June 13).
“In light of the passing of Sarah’s father Mike on Tuesday night, I’ve made the decision to reschedule the performances this week in Knoxville TN. Belmont, NC. and Savannah GA. I’ve always said that my wife, my children and making music were the three loves in my life. Two of those need my love and support more than ever,” he wrote on Facebook. “We appreciate the understanding of the venues, the support of the fans and the hard work of my team during this tough situation. We’ll be working hard to reschedule these performances as soon as possible and look forward to bringing a great night of music and memories to Knoxville, Belmont and Savannah when we do.”
His fans rushed to offer their condolences to the Baber family, telling him to take all the time he needs, and not to rush back to the stage too soon. Our thoughts are with Baber, his wife Sarah and his family during this time.
