When it comes to the CMA Awards, the Entertainer of the Year Award is the most coveted trophy. Then comes the Male/Female Vocalist of the Year Awards, which are awarded to the best male and female vocalists in country music that year.
Usually, some of the Male/Female Vocalist of the Year nominees are nominated for the Entertainer of the Year Award as well. Therefore, if a certain artist wins Male/Female vocalist of the year, it serves as a pretty good indicator that artist may win Entertainer of the Year as well.
This year, three of the five Male Vocalist of the Year nominees are also nominated for the Entertainer of the Year Award. Chris Stapleton is the reigning Male Vocalist, having won the award in both 2016 and 2015.
