12-Year-Old Relative of Elvis Presley Showcases Vocal Talent In Incredible Recording

As a descendant of one of the most legendary vocalists in history, 12-year-old Lauren Marie Presley demonstrates that her family’s talent continues to thrive.

Even though four decades have passed since the world was shaken by the heartbreaking news of Elvis Presley’s untimely demise, the gifted young singer resurrects The King’s magic with her breathtaking performance of Sara Evans’ “A Little Bit Stronger.”

Part of Lifetime’s 2013 singing competition drama, Chasing Nashville, Lauren Marie stepped into the recording booth for her captivating performance of Evans’ hit song. The young singer demonstrated she was a force to be reckoned with, showing off her heart-stopping vocal skills that will leave you in disbelief she was only 12 years old at the time!

“I’m done thinking, that you could ever change/ I know my heart will never be the same but I’m telling myself I’ll be okay,” Lauren Marie sang passionately. “Even on my weakest days, I get a little bit stronger.”

Lauren Marie – whose father is a distant cousin to Elvis – is currently following in the footsteps of her famous relative in pursuit of her own star-studded Nashville dreams.

History Of The Song

“A Little Bit Stronger” was co-written by Lady Antebellum‘s Hillary Scott and recorded by Evans in 2010. In addition, the song was also recorded by actress Leighton Meester for the 2010 film Country Strong. It was featured on the film’s soundtrack and released as the second single in 2011.

Evans’ version of the song was highly well-received, going on to soar to number one on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs as well as number 34 on the all-genre Hot 100.
