Mike Morgan of South Dakota’s Codington County Sheriff’s Office is a police officer – but that’s not all he does. In a recently released video, Morgan stuns coworkers and people around the USA with an off-duty performance of the national anthem.

The video opens with Morgan standing in a courthouse hallway. He is noticeably excited as he says, “The courthouse is closed. I’ve been wanting to do this for a very long time. The acoustics in here are awesome!”

The officer spends his days keeping the peace, but he moonlights as a singer whenever he isn’t on the clock. So when he had the chance to sing the national anthem in a government building with an American flag in the background – he jumped at the opportunity.
