Cop’s Jaw-Dropping National Anthem Is Pure Gold

CBS News / Youtube

Mike Morgan of South Dakota’s Codington County Sheriff’s Office is a police officer – but that’s not all he does. In a recently released video, Morgan stuns coworkers and people around the USA with an off-duty performance of the national anthem.

The video opens with Morgan standing in a courthouse hallway. He is noticeably excited as he says, “The courthouse is closed. I’ve been wanting to do this for a very long time. The acoustics in here are awesome!”

The officer spends his days keeping the peace, but he moonlights as a singer whenever he isn’t on the clock. So when he had the chance to sing the national anthem in a government building with an American flag in the background – he jumped at the opportunity.

Within only a few moments, you can tell this cop has one powerful voice. Bellowing throughout the hallways, his amazing voice echoes through your speakers and sends shivers down your spine.

Morgan was right, the acoustics were amazing. And paired with his robust voice and passionate delivery – this rendition of the national anthem is not one to miss. As his performance nears the end, you’ll be on the edge of your seat to hear him hit the final high note. He does not disappoint.
