Craig Campbell Runs Out Of Gas, & Passes The Time By Taking Requests On Facebook Live

Every single person who has ever driven a car has been in Craig Campbell’s shoes before. We think we know our car’s gas gauge well enough to know exactly how many more miles we can squeeze out of it before filling up the tank.

Well, even with his celebrity status, Campbell is no different than us, y’all!

He thought he could make it to the gas station, but had to pull over on the side of the highway when he ran out of gas. After he was safely pulled over to the side of the road, he went live on Facebook and let his fans join him while he waited for someone to help him out. He insisted it was not his fault and that the gas gauge must be broken because the fuel light had just come on five miles back.

“So, I’m sittin’ on the side of the road. My flashers are on…out of gas,” he said. “If anybody wants to come help, I’m on 840. I can see the Renaissance tower, the Renaissance castles from here, but hey. When you’re stranded on the side of the road and you have a guitar, you play! I’ll be taking requests!”

Once many of his fans started tuning in, the requests began pouring in! From Shenandoah, to Christmas songs, to George Strait, and Janis Joplin, there wasn’t a shortage of requests. Fans know that Campbell’s catalog of cover songs is huge. Every Wednesday, he posts a cover video and it’s become a staple to our work week! It’s not a Wednesday until Campbell posts a Woman Cover Wednesday video.

He began with a Shenandoah song, and moved on to his own hit “Just Keep Them Kisses Comin'” before letting everyone know that he isn’t in that much trouble and that his friend is already on his way with some gas for him.

By popular demand, Campbell played his single, “Outskirts of Heaven.” He accompanied himself on guitar and if we weren’t reminded of his situation by the sound of cars whizzing by on the highway, we would have thought this was just an acoustic session!

After playing a couple Alan Jackson songs, he picked his phone up to show us just how fast people were driving past him! He played a total of about 15 minutes before his friend pulled up to rescue him. Thank goodness for good friends!

Campbell sure knows how to pass the time in a fun and entertaining way! If we were in the area, we’d definitely stop and help you, Craig! Watch the full Facebook Live video below.
