The Voice Fills Finale With Talent

The December 18, 2018 episode of The Voice was packed full of outstanding performances. The final four contestants took to the stage to sing with celebrity guests, including Rascal Flatts, Dan + Shay, and the Doobbie Brothers.

The finale episode also featured performances from a number of celebrity guests from various genres.

Country music was well-represented during the night. In addition to Rascal Flatts and Dan + Shay’s performances with members of the final four, Dierks Bentley also delivered a solo rendition of his hit collaboration with Brothers Osborne, “Burning Man.”

Coaches Unite For Stunning Holiday Duet

Two of the Voice coaches also took to the stage, and they delivered a special holiday performance that left everyone in awe.

Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson share a lot more in common than many may realize. They both found their claim to fame through American Idol, and both have severed as coaches on The Voice twice.

But the two had never coached together until Season 15.

It goes without saying that another similarity between Hudson and Clarkson is the fact that they are both powerhouse vocalists. They brought their combined power together on the Voice finale, and did so through one of the world’s most treasured Christmas tunes…”O Holy Night.”

The Vocal Power Was Through The Roof

Originally composed in French in 1847, “O Holy Night” has gone on to be one of the most frequently performed Christmas carols. Many country versions exist, including recordings by Martina McBride and Josh Gracin.

Clarkson and Hudson’s take on the tune was unique, since it is often performed as a solo piece rather than a duet. They utilized their combined vocal power to hit one high note after the next, resulting in a performance that was too gorgeous to describe.

Just when you think that there’s no way they can sing any higher, they do. That final note that they hit is one that is sure to leave you open-mouthed in amazement.

You can go ahead and watch the duo’s brilliant rendition of “O Holy Night” in the video below. These two definitely need to sing together more often, don’t you agree?
