Miranda Lambert had a huge reason to be thankful on Thanksgiving Day in 2016. Less than a week prior to Turkey Day, Lambert celebrated the release of her sixth studio album, The Weight of These Wings.

Fans had been anticipating the album’s release ever since Lambert first started hinting about it in interviews. The release of her hit single, “Vice,” only added fuel to the fire, giving fans a taste of what to expect on The Weight of These Wings.

As a double album, Wings is separated into two discs called The Nerve and The Heart. With a total of 24 songs between them, Lambert has no shortage of wonderfully-written material to share with the world.

Once Thanksgiving rolled around, Lambert had the perfect opportunity to finally share some of her then-new music. Along with rock legend Sting, Lambert was invited to serve as a performer for the CBS broadcast of the Thanksgiving parade in New York City.

Thousands of fans gathered to watch Lambert perform, and she didn’t disappoint. She sang two of her songs, including “We Should Be Friends.”

In addition to singing “We Should Be Friends,” Lambert also put on an enchanting performance of her song “Highway Vagabond.” Included as the second track on The Nerve, “Highway Vagabond” was written by Natalie Hemby, Luke Dick, and Shane McAnally.

Wearing a tan dress with black, star-shaped designs and a pair of knee-high black boots, Lambert couldn’t keep herself from dancing around as her band kicked off the song. Lambert was all smiles during her performance, especially when she sang the song’s catchy chorus:

Highway vagabonds, living like hippies,
Moving right along to the next big city.
Okay, jump off the exit.
Truck stop, rest stop, next stop Texas.”

It’s clear that Lambert was having a blast on stage performing her new song, and the crowd seemed like they were having just as much fun. They couldn’t get enough of Lambert’s performance, and we can’t either!
