Sometimes the most unexpected things end up being the best combinations. In this case, country star, Joe Nichols teamed up with Canadian rock band, Nickelback for a full-throttle surprise performance.

The video opens with Joe Nichols singing his famous song, “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off.” All of a sudden – a cowboy hat-wearin’ Chad Kroeger walks on stage!
The crowd automatically went nuts as he proceeded to add a little twang to his voice and swagger in his step as he joins in on the country star’s popular hit. The audience’s reaction is priceless as they sing along with the chorus – proving that country and rock fans are often one in the same.
Nichols recollects the event in a recent social media post saying, “My friend Chad Kroeger of Nickelback singing “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off” with us in Merritt, BC at Rockin River Music Festival!”
A video taken from backstage shows the two friends dancing and singing together, prompting the crowd to “fill in the blanks” of the song, all while decked out in boots and cowboy hats!
This isn’t the first time Nichols has welcomed rock & roll to his show. In 2008, Nichols covered Nickelback’s “Rockstar” song at a concert in Indiana when he quickly transitioned from his own soothing love ballad, “I’ll Wait For You” into the powerful rock hit.
These guys definitely know how to rock and it is awesome to see artists from such different backgrounds come together for these kinds of musical collaborations.
