Within the article they tease as “The Celestial Nicole Kidman Burns Brighter Than Ever” Kidman opens up about getting teased for her faith – and explains how her family handles questions about religion and beliefs.

The 51-year-old television and film star has a total of four children. Two grown children she adopted during her previous marriage to Tom Cruise, and two younger daughters she and Keith Urban have.

“A lot of my friends tease me,” she told the magazine about how she passes her deep faith onto her children. “That’s how we are raising our children.”

Kidman, who was raised Catholic has stated before that her faith is a very big part of her life – and even said once that it was “part of her essence.”

“I had a very Catholic grandmother and I was raised praying, so that had a massive impact.”

Husband Keith Urban maintains his own beliefs, but he chooses to attend church with Kidman and their daughters because attending church as a family is very important to them. While Kidman holds great conviction in her faith, she says that they want their daughters to approach the world with an open mind.

“I wouldn’t say it’s absolutism, there’s constant questioning — I’m a willful, feisty girl,” she explained. “For me, it’s very important that I don’t have judgment. My dad would always say, ‘Tolerance is the most important thing.’”

Kidman has often been very open and vocal about her faith – even in spite of jabs from her close friends and spoke to another publication in 2018 about her near-choice to become a nun.

“I’m spiritual in that I absolutely believe in God,” Kidman told Allure. “I loved the idea of being a nun. Obviously, I did not choose to go that path, but I was very drawn to it.”

It’s clear that Nicole and Keith have a deep bond, strong joint parenting style, and a connection to God that they both enjoy in their own ways.
