Nye County Sheriff’s Office say that two Dutch friends, Ties Granzier (20) and Govert Charles Wilhelmus Jacob Sweep (21), were arrested after being found three miles into the Nevada National Security Site.

This site is very close to Area 51, which held the mega-viral “Alienstock” which started as a Facebook event called Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All Of Us. Over 2 million people said they would be attending on the Facebook event. Another whopping 1.5 million people said they were interested in storming Area 51.

2,000 people actually showed up to camp, and enjoy “Nightclubs, Parties, Festivals, Meet & Greets and more,” according to the event’s description.

The two friends were arrested on September 10, with many people thinking they wanted to get a jump on storming Area 51, but they said that wasn’t the plan.

“We didn’t have any intention to storm it because we leave on day before the actual storming dates, and we just wanted… to go there,” Sweep told CNN affiliate KTNV.

They completely disregarded the “No Trespassing” sign, even though they could read, write, and speak English, because they just wanted a good view of it.

According to Fox 5, Granzier and Sweep pleaded guilty to trespassing and illegal parking, which are both misdemeanors. Nye County District Attorney Chris Arabia said they were sentenced to a year in jail, but they will actually only spend three days in jail if they pay a fine of $2,280 by Thursday, when they’re scheduled to be released.

The cameras, a phone, a laptop and drone were found in their vehicle, and the men gave them up.

“It was important to us that these men serve jail time and pay a substantial financial penalty,” Arabia said. “We take this crime seriously. And people need to understand that we will not put up with this kind of nonsense.”
