Supermodel Heidi Klum made headlines during a recent appearance on Ellen, when she talked – again – about the insurance on her legs.
She revealed during a game where she was supposed to fill in the blanks of statements she was given, that her legs were insured by a client for $2 million total. Klum also said that one leg has a scar she got when she was a kid, so the other one is more expensive!
Klum also revealed this fact in a 2011 interview with Extra, saying, “I didn’t personally have them insured, but a client of mine did. Basically, I was in London, and I had to go to this place where they check out your legs. They would look at them and I had one scar here from when I fell on a glass, so this [left leg] isn’t as pricey and this [right] one.”
Her left leg is insured for $1 million and her right leg is insured for $1.2 million.
This revelation led to different entertainment sites putting lists together, as they have before, about different celebrities getting insurance on their body parts. For example, it was reported by CNBC that Keith Richards has a $1.6 million insurance policy on his hands and Bruce Springsteen’s insurance of his voice racks up to $6 million. They also reported that Dolly Parton’s boobs are insured for a total of $600,000!
Since she is doing press for her new line of cake mixes and frostings with Duncan Hines, Today’s Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager decided to bring up this report to her to see if it was true.
Parton said that despite there being numerous reports about it dating back to a 2006 ABC News article, her boobs being insured was “just a joke.”
“Well, it’s not true about that,” Parton said. “Years ago, was it Betty Grable or one of the great famous stars that was famous also for her legs, and at the same time I said, ‘Well maybe I should get my boobs insured since I’m famous for them.’ But it was just a joke. I didn’t do that.”
At the end of the interview, Parton reminded the hosts, “By the way, you can get new boobs but you can’t get new legs.”
