The Sesame Street Characters Sang In The Circle Of The Opry With Lauren Alaina And Tayla Lynn
โElmo is so excited to be at the Grand Ole Opry,โ said 3 1/2-year-old Elmo, the beloved red Muppet of Sesame Street.
On Thursday, August 14, as part of the ongoing celebration of the Grand Ole Opryโs 100th anniversary, Elmo made his Opry debut, and he wasnโt alone. Accompanying him in Nashville, Tennessee, was another resident of 123 Sesame Street: Abby Cadabby.
Their visit to the Opry was part of Sesame Streetโs Road Trip Across America, which will now be introducing a new generation of youngsters to Music City.
While there, country singer (and new mom) Lauren Alaina sang with Elmo for her first performance since giving birth to her first child, Beni Doll; and Tayla Lynn, the granddaughter of the late country icon Loretta Lynn, sang with Abby Cadabby.

Lauren Alaina Sings โRoad Less Traveledโ With Elmo
For her first performance since the June 11 birth of her daughter, Lauren Alaina took to the stage of the Grand Ole Opry with Elmo.
Together, they sang Lauren’s 2015 hit song “Road Less Traveled.”
Donning a blue cowboy hat, with a matching Western shirt and a bolo tie, when Lauren sang the lyric “show me that you’re one of a kind,” she then asked if Elmo is “one of a kind.”
Elmo replied, “Yes, and so are you!”
Then, the two hit the chorus together, with Elmo harmonizing with Lauren.

Tayla Lynn Sings Motherโs โYou’re Lookin’ At Countryโ With Abby Cadabby
Singing a tribute to Loretta Lynn, who died in 2022, was her granddaughter, Tayla Lynn.
Joined by Abby Cadabby, the two sang Loretta’s 1971 song “You’re Lookin’ At Country,” with Tayla introducing the song by asking Abby to look out to the crowd at the Opry, saying, “We’re gonna do a good ol’ country song ’cause you’re lookin’ at country.”
As the song began, Abby then looked up to the heavens and said, “This is for you, Miss Loretta.”

Elmo went on to praise Chris Stapletonโs song about the power of music, which he sang on Sesame Street last month.
Thinking ahead, Elmo and Abby both said they were “dreaming” of singing with Dolly Parton.
โElmo would love to do a duet with Miss Dolly Parton,โ Elmo said. โMaybe we could do โJoleneโ together. Come on Dolly! Call Elmo!โ
Abby chimed in, saying, โYeah! Or โLove is Like a Butterfly!โโ
Elmo added, โCall us! Weโre available!โ
