The Christian Artist Invited The Country Singer On Stage To Perform The Song That Has Meant So MUch To Him And His Family

Continuing his King of Hearts Tour, Christian artist Brandon Lake stopped in Charlotte, North Carolina, performing on April 19.

There, he brought out an unexpected friend for a very special live collaboration: Jordan Davis.

Before they performed together, Brandon took a moment to share with his audience about a song by Jordan that has meant a lot to him and his wife, and that song is “Buy Dirt.”

Brandon recalled, “Brittany and I, we moved out of the city, and my life started getting really busy. We put an offer on this house. We had to wait six months until we moved out there. What I didn’t realize is that that land would heal me in ways I didn’t know I needed healing.”

Getting Brandon and his wife through that was “Buy Dirt,” with Brandon adding, “Me and Brittany played this song, like, every single day, and this became our anthem.”

Turning to Jordan, Brandon then said, “So I wanted you to share it with us.”

Over the past year, Christian artist Brandon Lake has been building up a lengthy resume of collaborations with some of the biggest names in country music.

Of course, it all started with his hit song, “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” which he rereleased as a duet with Jelly Roll, which kickstarted Brandon’s maneuvering within the country music scene. From there, Brandon made his Grand Ole Opry debut, and he led worship at CMA Fest.

Brandon would go on to release his own country-tinged Christian ballad, titled “When A Cowboy Prays,” which he has performed live with Cole Swindell and has since rereleased as a duet with Cody Johnson.

Since then, Brandon has also recorded duets with Bailey Zimmerman, for “Just Believe;” and Lainey Wilson, for “The Jesus I Know Now.” He even hosted a faith-based songwriter’s retreat, which was attended by 25 major country artists and songwriters, including Bailey, Lainey, Thomas Rhett, HARDY, and Tyler Hubbard.

From out of that retreat, Brandon says a total of 42 songs were written in five days.

Just last week, on April 16, Brandon performed “Bless The Broken Road” with Gary LeVox, of Rascal Flatts, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Now, Jordan Davis is numbered among Brandon’s country music collaborations.

“Buy Dirt” encourages a life devoted to the Lord and to family, with Davis’ song saying in its chorus:

“You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy dirt. You can buy dirt, and thank the good Lord for it, ’cause He ain’t makin’ any more of it, so buy dirt. Find the one you can’t live without. Get a ring, let your knee hit the ground. Do what you love but call it work, and throw a little money in the plate at church. Send your prayers up and your roots down deep. Add a few limbs to your family tree, watch their pencil marks and the grass in the yard all grow up.”

Jordan Davis Sings Worship Duet With Chris Tomlin

Notably, this isn’t Jordan Davis’ only collaboration with a Christian artist, as he performed with Chris Tomlin at Good Friday Nashville 2026, which was held at Bridgestone Arena.

While there, Jordan sang “Good Good Father” with Chris Tomlin, who, like Brandon Lake, is one of the biggest names in the Christian contemporary worship genre. Jordan also performed “Buy Dirt.”
