Bailey Zimmerman Says He Has Been Wanting To Convey This Song’s Message For Five Years
“I’ve been a rebel, thought I had something left to prove. Fought with the devil, done things I wish I didn’t do.”
We’re all drawn to sin, as illustrated by the Apostle Paul’s famous admission in Romans 7:15, “For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do.”
That’s where Bailey Zimmerman’s new duet with Christian artist Brandon Lake comes in.
Titled “Just Believe,” the song was released at midnight on Friday, March 13, and sees belief in Jesus as a remedy to the problems in the world and the rule of sin, akin to the message of 1 Corinthians 10:13, which reads, “God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able.”
For Bailey, this song has been five years in the making, he says.
He then added, “I think this might be my favorite song I’ve ever put out … it means so much to me.”

The release of this song comes nearly two months after Brandon Lake hosted a faith-based songwriting retreat that was attended by many big names in country music.
Lainey Wilson, HARDY, Thomas Rhett, Tyler Hubbard, and more were all there.
Even Bailey Zimmerman was in attendance.
From out of that retreat, Brandon says a total of 42 songs were written in five days by all 25 of the artists who participated. While it isn’t clear if “Just Believe” came from that writing session, there is video from the retreat of Brandon and Bailey singing together.
Further, the phrase “just believe” has been tattooed to Bailey’s right wrist for several years now, speaking to its significance in his own life.
On March 8, Bailey crashed one of Brandon’s shows on his King of Hearts Tour. There, they performed “Just Believe” for the first time ahead of its March 13 release.
