After his statements suggesting women are weaker than they need to be to race, this female racing celebrity is springing back with some words of her own…AND a challenge!
During an advertising conference in April, Formula One CEO Bernie Ecclestone made waves with a statement questioning women’s abilities to drive in F1 races.
“I don’t know whether a woman would physically be able to drive an F1 car quickly,” Ecclestone stated. “And they wouldn’t be taken seriously.”
Of course the media and female race drivers from all over contended his statements and refuting his comment that they wouldn’t be taken seriously. The’ve been taken seriously in nearly every other racing devision in which they compete already, so why would participating in Formula One change that?
TMZ caught up with Danica Patrick and issued a statement of similar sentiment, firing back at Ecclestone, and suggesting they go head-to-head to settle the “strength” issue.
They asked Danica how she felt about it, and she summed it up in a simple statement.
“Guess we haven’t arm wrestled….He has no idea.“
