A wild video is circulating the internet that shows a farmer using his telehandler to move an abandoned car off of his property by lifting it over a fence and onto the road.
A shirtless man is seen in the video kicking the piece of farm equipment as it hauls the car away from a gate it was blocking. The farm itself is located in Barnard Castle, County Durham, which is run by Robert Hooper. However, it is not clear if he is the one in the video driving the tractor.
Daily Mail reported that the farmer had been dealing with a group of people that had been setting fires and destroying parts of his property. When the owner of the silver car refused to move it from its place blocking the farmer’s driveway, the farmer decided to take matters into his own hands and move it himself.
The video was originally posted on Snapchat by a man called Elliott Johnson, who included a caption calling the hatchback his “courtesy car”. It wasn’t long before the video went viral and spread to other media platforms.
A police spokesman told Daily Mail, “We were alerted to reports of an incident at a farm in the Teesdale area shortly after 5:45 pm on June 5, (2021)…Officers attended the scene and an investigation into the circumstances is ongoing.”
As of now, no arrests have been made.
