Keith Urban Covers Luke Combs’ “Even Though I’m Leaving”

Keith Urban is well aware that Mondays are a difficult day of the week since the majority of people have to return to work. Maybe that’s the reason he decided to bless us with a video clip of himself singing a song on his Instagram, or maybe it’s just a good song by another really good artist.

On August 3, 2020, Urban posted a video on Instagram of him covering Luke Combs’ song, “Even Though I’m Leaving” and captioned it:

“Hey Luke…. how much do ya MISS TOURING ?!!!”

Combs replied back saying,

“…that sounds great buddy and I miss it A. LOT.”

Combs is no stranger to missing the road and his band. In fact, his latest song, “Six Feet Apart” is entirely about someday being able to play shows again.

Of course, country music fans can’t wait for either artist to start playing shows again. In fact, Urban did a drive-in concert on May 14, 2020, to honor and thank healthcare workers. Obviously it’s not the same as his typical full-blown tour but it was a great place to start.

Right in the middle of nationwide lockdowns due to COVID-19, Urban officially announced his upcoming album that released on September 18, 2020. Even though he wasn’t able to celebrate the news in a social setting, he still found a way to connect with his fans. He surprised them with a quirky, personalized video that began as an update on how he’s been spending his time in quarantine. He even talked about why he chose the title The Speed Of Now, and touched briefly on the irony that it now holds.
