“Due to the projected path of Hurricane Erin and in the interest of the safety of fans, staff, and artists, my concert originally scheduled for this Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Morris Farm Back 40 Live in Barco, NC has been rescheduled to May 23, 2026,” he wrote in a Facebook post.

The “Five More Minutes” singer continued, “All tickets purchased for the August 21, 2025 date will be honored for the new show date. Guests who are unable to attend the rescheduled concert may request a full refund from their original point of purchase.”

The singer added that if you would like a full refund due to not being able to attend the rescheduled show, you need to request a refund within 30 days of the announcement from their original point of purchase, or here.

Fans React To The Concert’s Postponement

No matter what artists postpone concerts for, there is always someone who is going to be upset and vocal about it. Thankfully, it seems McCreery’s fans understand why he moved the show. See some of their reactions below.

“Way to go for being Safe for you and your fans! Proud of You & your Staff!”

“Thank you for putting people safety first! Stay safe!”

“Hope all will be clear for concert Friday night in Duolingo County! We have a group traveling from Morehead City to see you, to support a fellow NC boy!”

“At least he’s honoring his commitment and being safe.”

“I was wondering about that! Better to play it safe!”

“An upstanding young man. Kudos to Scotty for making decisions and informing his fans, and giving them time to make decisions for themselves.”

“God bless you Scotty McCreery. And thank you for putting safety above all else.”

“Safety first. Glad it has a rescheduled date. Looking forward to seeing you in May”

The Hurricane Will Not Affect All His Shows

McCreery is still scheduled to perform the following day in Kenansville, North Carolina. Based on how far away the city is from the ocean, we don’t think Hurricane Erin will affect this show.

According to the National Hurricane Center and USGS St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center, North Carolina’s Outer Banks region could be hit hard. While the Hurricane should stay offshore, it will potentially cause the water levels to rise over 10 feet.

On Tuesday morning (Aug 19), WINK Chief Meteorologist Matt Devitt revealed that there was a high risk for rip currents due to Hurricane Erin, and that there had been 75 rescues already. He pressed, “Stay out of the water!”
