“General Hospital” Actress Refuses To Watch Carrie Underwood

“General Hospital” star Nancy Lee Grahn is apparently not a fan of country music singer and “American Idol” judge Carrie Underwood.

President Donald Trump officially took the oath of office to become the 47th president of the United States January 20, 2025. His swearing-in ceremony was held inside the U.S. Capitol Rotunda at the time due to frigid weather in Washington, D.C.

Underwood sang during the ceremony along with the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club. She performed “America the Beautiful” and was positioned in front of the 46th president of the United States, Joe Biden, and his vice president, Kamala Harris.

“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event. I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future,” she said ahead of the performance.

Nancy Lee Grahn Defends Her Decision To Boycott Carrie Underwood

Her decision to sing at Trump’s inauguration was met with mixed emotions. Some fans threatened to boycott her music while others praised her for her willingness to appear, knowing that she would likely face backlash.

On Thursday (January 22), Grahn made it known she was not a fan of the country star, seemingly over her political beliefs. The actress spoke out about Underwood appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, alongside her fellow “American Idol” judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

“See ya next week @jimmykimmel. I refuse to even look at @carrieunderwood,” Grahn wrote on Threads.

Grahn, an outspoken Democrat and critic of President Donald Trump, accused Underwood of being “MAGA” in December.

“I thought everyone knew Carrie Underwood was MAGA. She’s American, all right, but certainly no Idol,” she wrote at the time.

Grahn later followed up to her initial statement, saying she would never “slam” Jimmy Kimmel.

“Truth matters. I LOVE Jimmy Kimmel & watch him every night,” Grahn said on Threads. “I would never ‘slam’ him. I simply said I would watch him next week because I didn’t want to look at Carrie Underwood (for obvious reasons) who was his guest that night. “Come on guys, I’m not worth the silly clickbait,” she added.
