Carrie Underwood Enters Her Second Year At The Judges Table On American Idol
Over twenty years ago, Carrie Underwood won American Idol and launched a wildly successful career. Last season, she joined the show again, this time as a judge, helping young artists follow their own dreams.
Along with judging on Idol, Carrie has been keeping herself quite busy over the past few years. She wrapped up her three-year Reflection Las Vegas residency in April 2025. The residency proved to be a huge success for the “Before He Cheats” singer, as she performed 72 times for fans who traveled from all over the world to see her.
Prior to that, Carrie spent time on her Denim & Rhinestones Tour, which ran from late 2022 through early 2023. When she’s not devoting her life to music, the country music star spends plenty of time on her farm, where she cares for her animals and grows her own fruits and vegetables.
“My garden is one of my happy places…when I’m getting my hands dirty it’s my time for thought and reflection. Enjoy a little taste of calm…from my #Garden to yours,” Carrie previously shared.
The Oklahoma native often posts photos of the food she’s grown, including squash, blueberries, and tomatoes.

The “Jesus Take The Wheel” Singer Confirms No 2026 Tour Plans
While fans always adore her music and gush over seeing her live, Carrie confirmed this week that she won’t be touring in 2026.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, when asked about tour plans she simply said “No! Nah. I’ll go see them,” referring to her fellow judges, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. Richie hinted that tour news may be on the way, while Bryan revealed his summer tour plans just last week.
It’s unclear why Carrie is opting not to tour this year, other than she doesn’t currently have an album to promote. She will be making a few appearances at some festivals in 2026 including the Wildlands Music Festival in Big Sky, Montana and the Tanglewood Music Festival in Massachusetts.
For now, it seems she’s devoting her all to Idol, sharing in a recent interview that she feels more confident returning to the judges’ table this season.
“I feel like last year, you wonder if you’ll have anything to say. You wonder what kind of a judge you’ll be because you really don’t know until you get in there. But I feel good, and I feel good about the talent, for sure,” Carrie told Kelly Sutton of Y’all Access Radio.
You can watch Carrie each week at the judges table on American Idol at 8/7c on ABC.
