Every so often, a musical legend is born. Without warning, they come swinging through the gates ready to take over the industry with their talents. Over the decades there have been an array of legendary classic country artists whose light continues to shine bright, one of those being Mrs. Loretta Lynn.

Legendary Loretta

Lynn has been on the scene since the 60s and has hardly slowed down since. Taking on the title as the most-awarded female country recording artist, it’s safe to say she’s had one heck of a career. With 24 number one hit singles and 11 number one albums, Lynn has rightfully become the queen of country music.

But before she was country music’s female icon, she had big dreams to live out. It was 1988 and the ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter’ had yet to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. While her dear friends Kitty Wells, Patsy Cline, and Johnny Cash had all earned their spot, young Lynn was patiently waiting her turn.

A Surprise Of A Lifetime

As an anxious and chatty Lynn sat in the audience of the Hall of Fame inductions, her longtime friend Johnny Cash took the podium to speak about the singer. Little did Lynn know – she was about to be honored with her Hall of Fame induction.

Referring to Lynn as “one of the most admired women of our time,” Cash continued to gush about Lynn’s impact on the industry. Lynn – oblivious that Cash is speaking about her – looked admiringly toward the stage. Cash continued,

“She touched our very deepest, most personal emotions, and became an inspiration for millions. She was born a coal miner’s daughter, but she has become a country music legend.”

As the camera pans over to Lynn you see her glowing with excitement and joy. As Cash announces her name, she jumps out of her seat and runs up to the stage within seconds. Lynn runs straight into Cash’s arms as the audience roars with pride. Cash lifts up young Lynn showing the utmost support.

In her sparkly pink top and white pants, this country diva had officially earned her rightful title in the Country Music Hall of Fame with the sweetest reaction of all time.

Everyone in the crowd was smiling from ear to ear in support of this country music powerhouse.

Lynn posted the video remembering her dear friend, The Man in Black and the day that changed her life forever. She admits in the caption,

“I was so surprised.”

No one deserved it more!
