The Gilberts’ Long Journey To Grow Their Family
After Brantley Gilbert and his wife, Amber, married in 2015, they started right away on trying to have children. Eventually, they just accepted the fact that maybe parenthood wasn’t in the cards for them.
Or at least, it wasn’t at that time.

As Brantley recalled in an interview with People, he was on tour when Amber surprised him with some big news.
“She handed me a box and there were three pregnancy tests in there and all of them were positive,” Brantley recalled. “I think I stared at it for at least two minutes without saying anything because I was literally in shock.”
Their son, Barrett Hardy-Clay Gilbert, was born in November 2017

Little Barrett has brought so much joy to his parents since his arrival. While Brantley hasn’t posted much about his son on social media, Amber often shares photos of the little guy.
Now just over a year old, Barrett is as adorable as can be with a full head of curly blond hair.

Another Little One Is On The Way!
Soon, Amber will have two little ones sitting next to her on the counter while she whips up some yummy treats. That’s because she and Brantley are expecting their second child together!
The couple revealed the big news through People, sharing that Baby Gilbert #2 will arrive in September.
Amber is also far enough along that they were already able to reveal the baby’s gender. The couple pulled a string on a box that released balloons, confetti, and balls that were all colored bright pink. It’s a girl!

Brantley Had An Emotional Reaction
Amber said that Brantley had an even more emotional response to the reveal than she did, saying, “My mom was crying, and I had tears in my eyes. But Brantley? He was just crying.”
Brantley owns up to the fact that he broke down upon learning that he was having a baby girl. “Oh, I cried!” he said. “I was so sure it was a boy. I wasn’t ready for it to be a little girl — and man, when it was! I just wanted a healthy, happy baby, but a little girl means a whole other deal.”

When Amber was pregnant with Barrett, she appeared in a touching music video Brantley filmed for his song, “The Ones That Like Me.” The singer has new music on the way already, so we can’t help but wonder if Amber will appear in another one of his music videos now that she’s expecting again.
