Sheri said Kalama Beach is a regular spot the two often hang out at and on this particular day, Anela was in the water playing by the shoreline while Sheri was laying down, sun tanning in the sand.

Anela was having a great time so Sheri pulled out her phone to record her daughter playing in the water and that’s when she captured the scary moment on film.

The video showed Anela jumping at the waves as they were crashing onto the shore and as she jumped, a shark swimming beside her, swam into her and started thrashing around in the low tides.

“I was recording her being silly prior to that happening then all of a sudden she started darting out of the water and told me,” KITV4 reported Sheri saying.

In the video, you can see Anela’s eyes get real big and her face transformed with terror as she realizes what’s beside her. The shark is clearly bigger than she is and she quickly takes off running back to dry land, screaming, “Shark!”

Fortunately, no one was injured in the video and Anela’s got a memorable video to show friends and family throughout the years.
