Randy Travis Sends His Prayers to Victims of Hurricane Helene
It’s been nearly two weeks since Category 4 Hurricane Helene made landfall and tore through the southeastern United States. The powerful storm left cities without electricity, destroyed homes, and tragically claimed the lives of over 200 people.
With so many lives impacted by the storm’s aftermath, people across the country have stepped up to help in any way they can. The country music community has been especially supportive, with multiple stars making donations to aid relief efforts and encouraging others to contribute as well.

North Carolina native Randy Travis has spoken out about the devastating events caused by Hurricane Helene, sharing his prayers with his followers.
“The Carolinas will always be home to me. My career was rooted in Tennessee, and I now hang my hat in Texas, but North Carolina holds my heart,” Travis wrote in a social media post. “The devastation rendered by Hurricane Helene wrenches my soul as I see the lives of so many washed away and destroyed, along with the beautiful towns, landmarks, and homesteads that were always the familiar mile markers on my way back home to Marshville, NC.”
“We ask that you keep the folks in North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and Virginia in your thoughts and prayers,” he continued. Many people have lost everything, including loved ones, homes, pets, clothing, food, automobiles, and jobs.”
In the post, Travis also urged those who are able to offer help to do so in any way they can.

“Access is impossible in some areas and limited in most areas, making it treacherous and tedious to deliver survival essentials. Mule teams are even being used to transport critical supplies. Therefore, your financial assistance is most welcome – so whether you have $1 or $1000 to offer, every penny helps exponentially. Many different organizations are offering recovery assistance. God shed His grace on our neighbors in the Southeast.”

Just days after Hurricane Helene took everything from thousands of people, another hurricane is expected to make landfall this week.
For residents of Florida, the terrifying weather isn’t over yet. A Category 5 storm, named Hurricane Milton, is projected to make landfall soon with winds exceeding 175 miles per hour. The storm is expected to hit Tampa Bay and southern Florida on Wednesday, October 9. Evacuation efforts are underway, and experts warn that this could be the most severe storm to strike the area in over a century.
