2016 might just have been the best year ever for Chris Lucas.

His band, LoCash, earned back to back No. 1 songs with “I Love This Life” and “I Know Somebody” and after eight years making country music together, they are finally getting the recognition they deserve. Their album The Fighters proves that they are in fact, fighters.

After over a decade in the music business and writing countless hit songs for other artists, LoCash really came into their own in 2016.

It was also the year his daughter, Remi was born. On March 21, 2016, after struggling for five years to conceive, his wife, Kaitlyn, gave birth to their second child. Remi joined big brother Caden.

By the looks of it, 2017 is setting out to be just as great as 2016 was. Less than a year after Remi’s birth, the country star announced he and Kaitlyn will soon be welcoming baby no. 3! Lucas revealed to Taste of Country that the baby is due in early September and they are in complete and utter shock.

“I didn’t think Remi was going to be born, and then she’s born, and the doctor’s like, ‘It’s a miracle!’” Lucas recalls, adding with a laugh, “Ten months later … ‘It’s a miracle!’”

Lucas and his bandmate, Preston Brust, appeared on The Today Show on Thursday (March 16) to perform their latest single “Ring on Every Finger” and got a little surprise while they were there.

Kathie Lee Gifford and Jenna Bush Hager managed to get Kaitlyn on Skype and they revealed to the expectant parents what their baby’s gender will be. Lucas was just excited to see his family, he didn’t realize there would be yet another surprise.

Both parents were extremely surprised to find out they will be having another baby girl – Kaitlyn even started tearing up!

The new baby girl will join Remi, Caden and Brust’s daughter, Love, as the LoCash kids. Who knows – maybe they will form a kids country band together!
