Taking to the famed Opry stage, this country superstar honors a legend taken far too soon with an incredible medley he and his band put together to pay tribute to their colleague and friend.

Toby Keith, known for his hard-rocking party anthems and unforgettable patriotic hits, has been around country music ever since he was a child – and likely much of that was Merle Haggard’s.

There are hardly any country artists who do not list Haggard as part of their inspiration or someone who has brought them joy and insight in their musical career. He was a true legend and a beloved member of the country music community.

After Haggard passed on April 6th, 2016, we saw many people honor him in their own unique way, but never have we seen such an emotional and tear-jerking medley composed in his honor as Toby created for this special Grand Ole Opry performance.

Singing hits like “Mama Tried”, “Today I Started Loving You Again”, “Silver Wings”, “I Think I’ll Just Stay Here and Drink”, along with many others, Toby gives the performance his all and truly shines in this beautiful tribute.
