Kane Brown has teased this album multiple times, and fans have been eagerly waiting to hear some of their new favorite songs of 2025.

One song that he released early is “Backseat Driver,” which tells the story of him driving with his young daughter and explores themes of fatherhood and the passage of time.

Kane Brown’s New Song “Haunted”

Although Kane Brown shared several songs before the album’s release, he saved one particular song for the album launch because he wanted it to remain a secret. This song, titled “Haunted,” is a collaboration with Jelly Roll.

Jelly Roll was so passionate about the song that he tried to get Kane to release it early and even wanted to perform it on New Year’s Eve.

Due to the time it took to release the song, Jelly Roll was concerned that it might not come out at all, to which Kane responded,

“I was like, no, bro, we’re doing the song. It’s just I want it to stay a secret until my album. And so, I mean, he was trying to play it on New Year’s. I was like, bro, I don’t want anybody to hear it yet. But yeah, Jelly is just a light.”

The song discusses themes of suicide and depression and includes a trigger warning.

When discussing the release of the song, Kane Brown mentioned,

“So I’m really pumped for everybody to hear it and know that they’re not alone in the world. It’s a very powerful song for anybody that doubts their self or goes through depression or even worse than that. So I’m really excited for everybody to hear it.”

The music video for Kane Brown and Jelly Roll’s song “Haunted” opens with a scene of Kane in a dilapidated hotel room. The video features shots of broken debris on the floor, all captured in a blue hue that reflects the song’s deep themes.

The chorus says:

‘”Cause I’m haunted by the voice in my head
I’m haunted by the taste of that lead
I wanted too many times to jump off of the edge
Thinkin’ I was better off dead
I’m haunted only ever other night

I’m haunted and I wish I knew why
I wanted too many times to be gone by the mornin’
If I’m honest
Yeah, I’m haunted, oh
Haunted”

The song reads more like a confession than an anthem of hope.

Instead of reaching a happy resolution, the song immerses the listener in the pain it conveys. Watch the song’s chilling music video below.
