The Line Dance Craze Catches On

Country music and line dances share a connection that is destined to last forever.

Some of the greatest country hits of decades past have been officially deemed as line dance songs, such as Brooks & Dunn‘s “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” and Alan Jackson‘s “Good Time.”

The good thing about country music is that almost any song can have a line dance choreographed to it. One line dancing team takes full advantage of today’s hottest country hits, using them to serve as the backing tracks to some smokin’ line dances.

Bringing A Dance To A “Backroad” Hit

Based out of Seattle, Washington, the Boot Boogie Babes are an esteemed line dancing team with worldwide fame. Their choreographer and director, DeAnna Lee, often shares videos of their routines online.

By watching the videos, people can learn fun new line dances to some of their favorite country songs.

One of the Boot Boogie Babes’ routines was choreographed to a song that took country music by storm. That song is none other than Sam Hunt‘s “Body Like a Back Road,” which he co-wrote with Zach Crowell, Shane McAnally, and Josh Osborne.

Hunt felt inspired to write the song following his engagement to his now-wife Hannah Lee Fowler. As Hunt told Nash Country Daily upon its release, “hopefully it’s easy to listen to and will put a smile on some folks’ faces.”

As we now know, Hunt’s hopes for “Body Like a Back Road” ended up coming true. The song cruised its way to the top spot of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, where it remained for an impressive total of 34 weeks. It also made its way over to the Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it peaked at the sixth spot, making it Hunt’s first Top 10 single on that chart.

This Should Be Easy For You To Learn Too

Since it’s so popular, “Body Like a Back Road” was basically begging to have a line dance choreographed to it.

The Boot Boogie Babes were happy to oblige, and put together a toe tappin’ dance that anyone can learn in a snap.

In the past, the Boot Boogie Babes have danced to the original recordings of whatever song they’ve choreographed a dance for. But they decided to take the live approach when it came to “Body Like a Back Road,” and invited professional busker Kitty Mae to sing for them as they danced.

Now it’s time for you to enjoy Kitty’s performance and the Boot Boogie Babe’s routine by checking out the video below! You’ll find yourself dancin’ along in no time at all!
