Country music singer Brad Paisley has written and performed many famous songs – from heartbreaking ballads to American anthems that embrace living in the moment and gettin’ some extra mud on the tires.

Although the singer has earned the title of being a comedian with his hilarious jokes and music, Paisley has also shown his talent through the display of deep emotions and truly heartfelt performances. When he’s not singing about checking others for ticks or dedicating mass amounts of time to beefing up his online dating profile, the country music singer is tugging at our heartstrings and allowing us to view life from different perspectives – all through music.

A young Paisley treated fans to an acoustic performance of one of his most emotional ballads, “When I Get Where I’m Going.” The audience was pure silence as they basked in Paisley’s smooth vocals and incredibly inspiring lyrics.

His voice carried nothing short of passion as he sang, “Yeah, when I get where I’m going/ There’ll be only happy tears/ I will shed the sins and struggles/ I have carried all these years.”

Released in 2005 as the second single from his album, Time Well Wasted, the song also soared to the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s country airplay chart. Country music legend Dolly Parton also lent her vocals to accompany Paisley’s on the unforgettable ballad, giving an extra dose of warmth and power.

Appealing to those who have painfully experienced losing a loved one and desperately longing to reconnect in the afterlife, he sang, “I’m gonna walk with my grandaddy/ And he’ll match me step for step/ And I’ll tell him how I missed him/ Every minute since he left/ Then I’ll hug his neck.”
