Brandon Lake’s fast-growing career has skyrocketed to the top in 2025!
From making his Grand Ole Opry debut in February, to singing at both the American Idol “Songs of Faith” Easter special and the Season 23 finale, and leading worship for tens of thousands of people during the Charlie Kirk memorial last month, Lake is witnessing monuental success.
His popular hit, “Hard Fought Hallelujah” was originally released as a single in November 2024, but this year he collaborated with Jelly Roll to release a new remix of the song. The lyrics talk about overcoming life’s challenges and viewing trials and tribulations as a stepping stone to becoming a stronger person.
Lake hit another incredible milestone after “Hard Fought Hallelujah” was nominated for Musical Event of the Year ahead of this year’s CMA Awards.

“Hard Fought Hallelujah” Makes Tremendous Impact
Through their incredible collaboration, Jelly and Lake have had the opportunity to share the Lord with hundreds of thousands of people through their duet, and have been incredibly blessed doing so.
Last summer, Jelly surprised fans at CMA Fest in Nashville to join Lake for a performance of the song. The two brought the crowd to moments of raising their hands in worship as a lit up cross appeared above.
Lake has also had the opportunity to collaborate with incredibly talented artists, including Jon Batiste and Phil Wickham.
Amid all of his success this year, he’s also had time to write and record a new song, too.
“When A Cowboy Prays” finds Lake leaning into the timeless American imagery of the West, while singing of the eternal truth of God’s love for His children.
During a Dallas show, he dedicated the song to “all my cowboys and all my bubbas out there who God hears,” adding, “You might not have a cowboy grandpa, or somethin’, but there’s just certain people out there when you hear ‘em pray, it moves mountains, you know? And it’s humble, but it’s honest.”
Lake Confirms Recording Of The Hit With Cody Johnson
Now, Lake is joining forces with none other than the cowboy himself, Cody Johnson.
During a recent show, he told the audience he “heard the comments” and decided he had to record “When a Cowboy Prays” with Johnson.
Lake told the crowd they couldn’t post about the announcement because it was a “secret,” but said it would be released next year.
