The internet has a funny way of making people (and animals) famous thanks to social media platforms where stories and videos can spread like wildfire. A friendly feline has found himself to be the latest internet star after a video of him “speaking” swept through Instagram and TikTok.
The video shows the cat named Gambino running away from the camera. His owner follows and finds the cat around the kitchen corner. Gambino looks at the camera and meows. But, Gambino’s meow isn’t an ordinary meow. In the clip, it sounds like the cat is saying “Well, hi” in a thick southern accent.
Gambino’s owner shared the minute-long clip and it quickly went viral with nearly 1.5 million likes and 11,000 comments on TikTok.
