Is there anything Chris Stapleton can’t do? After blazing the world of country music with a triple win at the 2015 CMAs, the country legend in the making is testing out the waters of R&B with a dangerous cover of James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World.”

Joining the ShadowBoxers on stage, Stapleton delivered a killer cover to the iconic 60’s R&B tune. Donning his signature cowboy hat, the country singer proves he’s more than deserving of his trailblazing success. With raspy vocals matching that of Brown’s original, Stapleton takes the breath away from everyone in the room.

“Man’s World” was met with immediate controversy upon its release with Rolling Stone magazine characterizing the lyrics as “biblically chauvinistic.” The song attributes all successes of modern civilization to man adding a claim that although it’s a “man’s world” it would “mean nothing without a women or a girl.” Despite heavy criticism, the song proved popular reaching No.1 on Billboard R&B chart and No.8 on Billboard’s all genre Hot 100.

You can watch Stapleton’s cover of the R&B classic in the video below and be sure to let us know what you think in the comments!
