Bryan Braman, a former NFL linebacker, has sadly passed.

The Super Bowl champion was only 38 years old when he passed due to a rare form of cancer.

According to his agent Sean Stellato, Braman passed on Thursday, July 17 in Spokane, Washington. Stellato shared that he is grieving the loss today, saying,

“Bryan, people saw this enormous human being, but his heart was big as his body.” He continued, “It’s hard. I feel like I lost my firstborn. This kid, he gave me his bed every time I came to Philadelphia. He would threaten me if I didn’t stay with him. That’s something I’ll always cherish. My heart hurts today.”

Braman is survived by his two daughters Blakely and Marlowe, now 11 and 8.

It appears that Braman did not get married, although he was a private person with his last social media post being over three years ago.

Braman’s Cancer Battle

Braman was diagnosed with brain cancer in February of this year and has been undergoing intense treatment since then. The football player’s cancer was a “rare, aggressive form of canceraccording to his agent.

Organizer William Jones shared with PEOPLE a breif insight into Braman’s cancer battle saying: “At first the mass did start to shrink, but then the cancer started fighting back. At this point Bryan has had to start having chemo treatments that are designed for the treatment program Bryan is in.”

He added, “Bryan has had to undergo several surgical procedures. The main problem has been that Bryan has not been able to recover from the procedures because of his lowered immunity due to all of these treatments. By the time he was able to recover so he could continue with the chemo, the cancer has grown exponentially faster, and is now growing around his vital organs.”
