When Does The Next Season Of Dancing With The Stars Start?
The season permiere of Dancing with the Stars is right around the corner.
Many shows take a break during the summer months to prepare for new seasons in the fall. Such is the case with DWTS, which typically airs one season per year. The upcoming season will be the 34th, with hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough returning.
Both have prior experience on the show. Ribeiro competed on (and won) Season 19 in 2014. Hough started on the show as a professional dancer, and won Seasons 4 and 5. She later served as a judge before becoming Ribeiro’s co-host in 2023.
Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli are expected to return as judges this year, but their involvement has not been confirmed.
Excitement surrounding Season 34 has been at an all-time high, since the show will also celebrate its 20th anniversary this year. Viewers can surely expect callbacks and references to iconic moments and competitors from the show’s history.
On Thursday (July 17), Dancing with the Stars announced exactly when the new season will premiere. The announcement came in a video that shows Ribeiro and Hough dancing together before Hough turns to the camera and says, “This is just the warm up.”
After that, text on the background reveals that Season 34 will premiere on ABC and Disney+ on Tuesday, September 16!
