The “Dance Of A Lifetime” Singer Recently Crashed A Wedding
The first dance at a wedding reception is a moment for the newlywed couple to move, in sync, with one another. Their dance anticipates how they will move through life together as one.
That’s the essence of Drake Milligan‘s song “Dance of a Lifetime,” from his 2022 album Dallas/Fort Worth.
“For worse and for better, we’ll two-step together, and I’ll hold you closer each day I go through this dance of a lifetime with you.”
For Hayley and Matthew McHugh, who were married in Arkansas in November 2024, this song was set to be the soundtrack to their first dance. Instead of an mp3 playing over the venue speakers, they were surprised by Drake Milligan, in the flesh, serenading them with his song.
Video of this interaction was shared in early May on Drake’s social media, showing the moment the bride realized the singer was in their midst.

Drake Milligan Explains Crashing The Wedding
Drake also filmed a video of himself fishing in Arkansas as he recounted how he crashed their wedding.
“I was on my way back from Nashville to Texas — had the weekend off — and I figured I’d stop by,” Drake said, adding that Hayley and Matthew are “a very nice couple.”
Continuing, he said, “I found out that they love the song ‘Dance of a Lifetime,’ and that they’re going to use it in their wedding.”
Before showing the footage of his wedding performance, Drake noted, “Nobody knows that we’re coming down here. We’re totally gonna crash this wedding.”
Speaking with Taste of Country, Drake added, “I met the whole family and everybody in on it said she was going to love it.”
In the video, we see the happy couple begin dancing to “Dance of a Lifetime.” With a microphone in hand, Drake makes his way down the stairs and Hayley can be seen turning toward him and pointing with enthusiasm.
Near the end of the dance, Drake gives a thumbs up to the couple before they approach him and offer him a hug of thanks.
It appears that he even stayed a while for some fun, posing in photos with the wedding party.
